As an exercise referral coordinator, Carol has worked in the fitness industry for over six years. She says”The part of this role that I love is seeing many clients improve their physical and mental wellbeing through own actions, with the help of a prescribed exercise programme and highly qualified instructors.”

A former Health & Wellbeing Manager in the local has given her great insight into the sector. As a qualified Exercise Referral Instructor, she has worked closely with referral clients from GP practices and Physiotherapists. Qualifications include:

Lucy Parker

Lucy has enjoyed a wonderfully varied career within the fitness for over 20 years

  • Phase 4 cardiac rehabilitation
  • Pre and post natal exercise.

Tina Cohen

Tina has been teaching Pilates for 16 years. From an early age, competitive
sport and exercise have always been integral to her life and when she discovered Pilates she knew she had found a way to develop and maintain her strength and mobility.

As an avid road cyclist, it means that even now in her 50s she has the strength and endurance to still cycle well over 100 miles a week injury-free, and it’s all thanks to Pilates.

Once hooked by the benefits of Pilates, she decided to train as an instructor in London at the Pilates Institute with renowned international trainer Michael King and became fully qualified in 2004. The Pilates method continues to evolve and Tina regularly attends workshops and seminars, both Pilates and non-Pilates based, that help expand her teaching and knowledge.

Tina says “I love teaching Pilates. By practising regularly, it has really changed my body – my posture and muscle tone improved dramatically and it helped relieve stress and tension in my body. It’s my aim to do the same for all my clients, whatever their age.”

Emma Rollings

Emma Rollings is the Clinical Lead for the WellBalanced programme and a Pilates Instructor. 

Emma has been working with the WellBalanced team for a year now, particularly enjoying the variety and challenges it brings and most of all seeing the difference the programme can make to the lovely participants!

Aside from work Emma is a Mum of one lovely 10 year old boy, who keeps her busy. She also enjoys keeping active – “I have to practice what I preach after all!”. Emma is a very keen runner, training regularly and competing in races when she can. Emma also practices Pilates and QiGong, as well as enjoying outdoor activities like Kayaking with her son.

Katie Woodgate

Katie is a specialist Pilates, Health, Fitness and Wellbeing Practitioner.  Bringing a dynamic and achievable approach to classes and sessions ensures you receive support to make the changes you want to your health and wellbeing.

Before qualifying as a Pilates, Fitness, Coach and Nutrition & Weight Management Practitioner, Katie spent 12 years in Human Resources.  Katie always tried to stay physically active and eat what she thought was healthy, but busy schedules, working away from home and then having children all took their toll on her health and wellbeing. After gaining weight, becoming inactive and then yo-yo dieting for many years Katie decided to make a change.

She went on to study a Post-Graduate Certificate in Business & Personal Coaching and then later an Advanced Diploma in Nutrition & Weight Management, Exercise to Music and an Advanced Diploma in Pilates specifically working with clients rehabilitating from sporting injuries and general orthopaedic conditions.  Katie’s work in rehabilitation Pilates has really fuelled her passion, so much so that she is going back to university in September to study Physiotherapy.

Sal Jefferies

Sal has been teaching people to move well, become strong, supple and balanced for the last 10 years. His style of yoga is fluid, flowing and dynamic. The exercises can be adapted for a beginner through to more advanced levels and all the classes are taught with deep understanding of the body and the mind. Sal takes a light-hearted approach to teaching whilst sharing some psychological insights along the way.

He specialises in human behaviour, psychology, somatic (body language), self awareness and yoga. He uses an approach utilising all his specialisms to deal with personal development and change.

Sal’s pioneering approach to personal development combines Mindset (thinking/cognition), Mood (emotions) and Movement (body dynamics and body language). When these three levels are integrated they build mental fitness, emotional resilience and a courageous mindset where inspiration, purpose and confidence become natural. 

Susie Wells

Susie struggled with her weight for years. From a young age Susie had always been overweight and unhappy with how she looked. After trying every diet out there Susie finally found a love for running and, together with eating correctly, managed to lose 4 stone. That was in 2008 and since then, she has become increasingly interested in nutrition and different forms of exercise.

This has driven a passion for health and fitness, which led to a career change in 2015. Susie gave up her job as a Manager in University administration and went back to the classroom to gain her personal training qualifications.

After a year with Premier Training Susie qualified with a Level 3 Diploma in Fitness Instructing and Personal Training and became the proud owner of ‘Wellsbeing Fitness’.  Susie is motivated to help people like herself who really want to change their lifestyle, achieve their fitness goals in a sustainable way and truly believe that physical fitness and mental wellbeing go hand in hand.

Loren Leaver

Sports Massage Therapist, Personal Trainer and Wellbeing Advisor

As a big football fan, fitness lover, and over recent years, a surfer, Loren’s decision to retrain came from helping a friend’s Saturday league football team out years back as match day first aid, where her interest in injury prevention, management and rehabilitation was
born. Loren studied sports massage and rehabilitation therapy, which was then followed by studying personal training and nutrition predominantly for rehabilitation.

Specialising in women’s health, cardiac and injury rehabilitation, Loren continually sets herself new challenges and finds herself studying and looking at different courses, methods and techniques to improve her range of services to clients as both a sports massage therapist, trainer and wellbeing advisor.

Adam Fiske

Adam Fiske is the Owner and Principal Osteopath of Mid Sussex Osteopaths based in Haywards Heath. This is a multi-therapy practice offering osteopathy, acupuncture and podiatry.

He has also taught at the British School of Osteopathy as a clinic tutor and worked at the University of Brighton undertaking research into osteopathy. He is currently a member of the Investigating Committee of the profession’s regulator, the General Osteopathic Council. As well as running a Low Back Pain Management course, he also runs a Wellbeing program for the employees and trustees of Borough Market in London.

His practice is built on an ethos of transitioning patients from treatment to activity and movement for their long term health and wellbeing. His extensive experience has led him to a broad approach to low back pain in which patient education, self management and wellness are as crucial to recovery as hands-on treatment is.

Korina Biggs

Korina is a fully qualifed Alexander Technique teacher and has had a busy private practice in Hove and Haywards Heath for nearly 20 years. She is on the faculty at RADA (Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts) and loves helping a wide range of people find an enjoyable way to easier movement, breathing and way of being.
